Time for change

As our new president, Tony Tan was announced the new President of Singapore, with a landslide win of 0.36%, I know that the time for change is to come. The votes had indicated that S'poreans are divided and perhaps we are no longer One S'poreans compared to previous time. More will be done to adhere to younger generation voices and the changing mindset.

Changes can be difficult, but necessary. We bite the bullet, swallow our pride and move on to the next chapter, hoping the new change will be make things better. Changes around us make us grow stronger as we learned from mistakes and not to repeat it again. The world is changing, from the liberation of Libya to the changing economy, nothing remains the same.

I'm echoing my own sentiments in the mist of change, even in our shop. We have to adapt to consumers needs and desire, we change our business strategy and models. We change our visual mechanising and even our staff. I hope this change will allow us a chance to prove ourselves to be a better someone, a better company,  a better nation, or a better economy in time to come. Only we brace the storm, hold our fort and fight against all odds and emerge stronger than before.

We welcome new changes in our lives, nation and the world, hoping it will be a better place.

It's a good time to buy

It is a good time to stash up some classic bags as the Euro currency is dropping.  Exports from Europe are generally cheaper with our Singapore dollars still. Classic bags are the evergreen, iconic and tell a story. We have some in store, the bamboo Gucci, for example is certainly one that is easily recongiseable. There is even a delicated museum, showcasing the designing and manufacturing process and of cos the different variant of the bags. The craftmen take pride with what they do, turning a plant into part of the signature of the Gucci.

Buying a bag sometimes it's like buying an art. There are some form of art or/and craft that goes into making that unique bag. Some people do appreciate the painstaking hand stitching and hammering by hand( of cos)  ..etc that go into making THE bag. The time and effort taken to make one bag is unthinkable, hence, that price.

Cost cutting measures

With the impending technical or global recession surfacing all over Europe and USA, I am starting to wonder if it will affect our business. In every recession, there are always opportunities as people start to purchase cheaper stocks, houses and set up shops/business. It is also employers markets as there will be a lot more skilled workers to choose from with lower expectation. I am torn whether this recession will have a positive or  negative impact to me, at least.
Well, whatever it is, I do hope we will be able to brace through the storm and continue to have positive things to look forward to, like buying something for yourself, i.e a new bag!

Please shop at our website: www.thedeborahshop.com to enjoy 8% discount. The number Eight is an auspicious number ( I am chinese Singaporean). Hope this will bring you some good cheer and luck!

Bags we like

Bottega Campana, $3200

Bottega Brick bag. $5000+

The ever popular Montaigne

Bottega Campana-Medium, $3100

Dior Lamb Leather, $3500

Dior, Canvus, $1300
We have more new arrivals, in fact, every 2 weeks. I was basically trying to pick one favourite, I couldn't. I need new bags! Yes, literally need. Although my parents taught me the difference between  " I want and I need "

Anway, back to the bags. Victor Beckham recently had a baby girl and she was carrying the Bottega Brick bag as her baby bag. This is big enough for all her baby essentials. It is roomy and lined in suede. It is actually not that a big for a tall person. I like mine in a light brown version.

I am quite split between the 2 Campana- the bigger or the smaller or both. I always like big bags as I think I carry with me a lot of baggage....zzz....I like big bag just in case I need to throw in unexpected items, like if I bought a magazine or a bottle of minteral water on a hot day. Or an umbrella if I am caught in the rain. A smaller bag is more managable and perhaps I wont have too much clutter.

Bottega has made its bag so sassy, looks causal and yet classic. The woven lambskin is indeed the signature, I can tell the difference from the  "wanna be " Bottega or the Bottega inspired design bag.

Dior is always my favourite, though I feel the Lady Dior is abit too structure and squarish. I will go for a lambskin Dior for the luxury feel. The canvas Dior is certainly slightly more afforable if I want a Dior to add into my collection.

p.s Google map make a mistake. Our shop is not in Dubai, it is S'pore- South East Asia. :)

Our website is finally out!

Today is our National Day and it is also the day our shop website is launched. A lot of hard work has been labored into making this website work. Most of it are done up by ourselves, including taking our own photos of the bags. This cost savings will ensure that our bags are competitively priced.  I believe there will be some teething issues which we will have to fix as the days go by. You can now buy bags at your convenience in the comfort of your home.
Visit us and give us your comments!

No more Q-ing for Celine Luggage Shopper/Tote

New Celine luggage shopper has just hit our shop. There are 5 size, Medium ( 38 x 40 cm), Shoulder ( 37 cm x 30) and  instead of naming it, Small, Medium and Large, they got a bit more creative to name in mathematical units :  Mini (30 x 30). Micro (26 x 26),Nano (20 x 20 cm). To add to the complications, there are many variant of colours and materials, therefore the price range differ as well.
This series we have in our shop currently are lighter as compared to last year when it was newly launched. The bag is also lined in suede and make it even more desirable.
