The reason why we feature this bag is first it is our new arrival. Secondly this is the kind of bag that confuse others with the different FF logo everywhere, here and there and leopards prints. And yes, Leopard prints is always in, since my grandma's time.

Chinese New Year 2012- China Town Singapore

Chinese New Year is a very special festive season as compared to other new year that I know. We have a total of 15 days of celebration, and this Sunday, 29 Jan is "Everybody's birthday". I happened to know as I was invited to a sumptuous dinner, I know. I had a lot to eat over the last few days. Chinese New Year is a lavish 2 day event in my family. We ate non-stop and there was always food to go round each person 10 times.  In a not so ancient past, my dad told me when he was a boy, they only had chicken on new year's day as my grandparents could not afford to have it everyday. Even then, it was not one chicken per person, it was one whole chicken to feed the entire family of 12 members. I am blessed.

Below are some pictures taken in China town, Singapore. I thought they were beautifully taken and summarised the happenings for those who missed out, for example myself. The pictures were taken by a friend who is totally soak in the Chinese New Year mood. He is going to celebrate the whole 15 days till it last.

I hope to share this with you.

Pancakes Heaven

This place serves great taste, value for money and a variety of pancakes. This is non other than the all American Diner, IHOP. I'm absolutely an IHOP fan - love this restaurant for it's pancakes. I can never complete my journey in America without savouring one of these. I am glad that IHOP are all over the country, I can't imagine how else to get my fix.

We were very satisfied after the hearty breakfast, at the same time we felt guilty. We had consumed all the calories in a day....okay, I maybe exaggerating. I hope they can consider adding to its menu a healthier version, like wholemeal, flax seed..etc pancakes and the trick is to make it tastes as yummy as the full fat version. HAH!

I am not doing IHOP justice by posting these photos. They look much more appetising in real life than the pictures of cos.

Slurp Slurp! :)
Chocolate chip pancakes..etc. Classic breakfast choice for the Amercians

A short stack of Pancakes- for perpentual dieters like me

3 sunny side-up. Great for people who are on Protein Diet
Oh yes, dont forget the maple syrup!

I used to HATE CNY but now......

I never like CNY since young as I don't like my relatives, let alone visiting them. ( if you happened to be related to me and reading this, I meant every single word). Shamefully admitting, my relatives are a bunch of competitive, loud mouth freaks. They used to compare which kids (my cousins) were smarter, prettier and even who was taller in front of us. Gosh, I wish I could tell them that they had ruined my confidence and made me developed an inferiority complex. I was not smart, pretty nor tall then.

Since I was a problem child (according to them), my cousins obviously could not hang out with me as I would have led them astray. My adult relatives continued to despise me, to further robbed me my self-esteem and confidence. I faded to the background slowly and it was indeed a blessing in disguise.  Without them or rather the negative energy, I fared so much better in life as compared to some of my cousins.

I have grown up and they have mellowed somewhat with age catching up with them. I am no longer compelled or forced to visit them at all. We are cordial and I have forgiven them even they did not apologise.

To me CNY is a holiday, celebration of the new year, excuses to buy new things, eat and having new hopes too. And yes, I will visit my relatives.

Below are a few of my favorites CNY goodies that will put a smile on my face:

Open face pineapple tarts
Only homemade pineapple tarts. I dont go for mass production ones, with the exception of Bengawan Solo. I love pineapples tarts.

Close face pineapple tarts.

Chinese Salad with raw fish and sweet sauce

I love Lao Yusheng, It is in fact a MUST have for me for CNY. I love the gathering of the people, the large plate and we have to say something auspicious ( we always say it in English) with each toss of the salad. I missed having it.

Personal Interest at 57, what could it be?

Not many people have the energy or money to pursue personal interest at 57 or round about that age. My parents are in their 60s and I always urge them to do something, like their interest, afterall they suppose to be at their "enjoying life stage".

I don't know what Mrs Saw sees her personal interest are, I am intrigue to know. Perhaps she has been pursuing her personal interest all along,  making money out of commuters,  sacking old froggies and dead wood on eve of festive seasons, and now quit the organisation before getting the boot. Interesting personal interest, yeah?

Alert Alert!

After a series of unfortunate events that happened to MRT, she should see through the whole investigation first before taking her exit. If not she should have quit there and then. Whatever she does now would come under fire, whether she is a quiter, or thick skin.

Her last redeeming points to make good of her life is to share what is her personal interest at old folks home and community centers.  I will certainly want to consider pursuing my personal interest asap when I have earned enough money.

Oh yes, New CEO, MR Tan should consider taking MRT to work.

What's in my bag?

I like big bags. I carry tons of stuff as if I am going to a battle field. Compulsory items such as brolly, water bottle, sunglasses, make-up pouch, a bunch of keys, a book to read in MRT/buses or while waiting...etc.

Today I found myself carrying less. This was just about half I normally take with me.
Things in my bag today
There are my daily bare essentials. I have to force myself to carry less as I want to rotate all my handbags, allowing them a chance to see the sun. My medium size Ferragamo bag happens to be the bag of the month.
My bag for this month
I created a lucky draw system to 'fairly' rotate my bags on a monthly basis, and yes, depending on the lucky number. I tagged each with a number and use my excel sheet to generate a random number. In this way, I will force myself to clean up the clutter in my bag, clean it before putting them back in the dust bag and into storage. Well, this is not a 100% fool proof that all my bags will get the chance to see the sunlight, I just thought it's a fun thing to do.

Feel free to share, what's in your bag? :)

Have a Spring in your walk

These photos were taken in Autumn which is my favourite seasons of the year. I like the colours of the leaves before they start to fade away. Winter is a season of hibernation and Spring, spring forth new life and new beginning. It is apt for today as we welcome 2012.

Sometimes I treat Autumn as the beginning of a new year, instead of Spring (Chinese calendar). I am influence by the Bible, or perhaps as my friends put it, the Jewish way.  Their new year, Rosh Hashanah is in Autumn. It is also describe as a day of Judgement and a day of Remembrance.

So today, I sat at home, remembering all the deeds that I have done and reflected on what had happened last year. I was deeply saddened over certain depressing events that marked my life forever as well as the small things I have gained along the way.

Before the day ends, I have written down this year resolution, a long to-do list. The shop needs a face lift,  I need to bring in more trendy bags for younger crowds, to be more bold in my selection and be competitive in pricing, maybe to relocate my shop,....blah blah blah. the list goes on and on.....I confessed I dont know the outcome or where it will lead me. I just gonna " JUST DO IT"

Someone famous said," if you dont know where you are going, any road will lead you there"
"Life is not about finding yourself but creating yourself".

I am creating myself, my life, the way I want it.
