Shampooing along with a 20 mins head massage

Have you ever been to a hair salon for a hair cut and had a great head/scalp massage at the same time? The best thing is...for the price of ONE!

I was indeed surprised with the supered service provided in Kobayashi Hair Design at Far East Plaza, Level 5. I walked in for a hair cut before my dinner with some friends in town. I told the stylist how I wanted my hair to be done and only had an hour to spare. He quickly gather his tools and got going with the business as usual...I only thought. He started shampooing my hair and then massaging my temples, head and neck. I put down the book I was reading and closed my eyes so that I could enjoy the massage. This went on for at least 10 minutes.
We then went to the washing area to get a thorough rinse. He applied some conditioner onto my hair and started to massage my head again. I could almost fall asleep. This went on for another 5-10 mins. I was not keeping the time of cos.
Germ free hair-salon. Spacious, hygenic and clean.

He chatted with me and also told me exactly what he would be doing, accounting for every step. This gave me the assurance that nothing would have gone crazily wrong. Within an hour, I had a new look and felt revitalised.

The boss, Laurence happened to be around and I gave my feedback about their excellent service. He is a S'porean in his mid 30s and just started this business like a month ago. I was thrilled to know that he is also an entrepreneurs like myself.
I am a great supporter of local entrepreneurs and seek out them out to give our own local talents a vote of confidence.

My haircut cost $40, after 20% discount for all new customers.
You can make the appointment online at www.kobayashihairdesign.com

  1. I have been to the salon last week after my lunch at Nanbantei restaurant which was located a few shop away from the salon. Yes I agree that the service was very good. The stylists simply took their time to do their cut nd styling for me. No rush at all. They even offered me 2 rounds of drinks, first it was Lipton tea. Then they saw my cup was empty and offered me coke this time. Wow this was the extent they went into customer service. I have not seen such service for a long time. They even offered me muffins ! I hope this salon will continue with their patience when doing the hair for customers and continue to treat customers like king which they r currently doing. I will definitely return to do my keratin treatment there since they are doing it t a much affordable price than other salons. Kuds to KOBAYASHI.

  2. This salon is creating quite a buzz within the Japanese community. I did a hair cut with one of the senior stylist called Jeremy lim. Not bad. When I was there, the Japanese customers were speaking with the owner of the salon in Japanese. Impressive ambience and service. I have retuned to do my hair more than once. Their hair treatment and scalp treatment use good quality Japanese products, mixed in front of your eyes unlike tether salons which mix behind the salon.
